TypeScript : Microsoft's attempt to upgrade Javascript

Microsoft want to upgrade javascript to make it more OO and easier to debug by introducing TypeScript.
From the Official TypeScript site:
TypeScript is a language for application-scale JavaScript development. TypeScript is a typed superset of JavaScript that compiles to plain JavaScript. Any browser. Any host. Any OS. Open Source.
It has many sample applications with source code that you can see how it works. There is a todomvc application showing how to write TypeScript with BackBone and jQuery.
