Gmail search tips : Using advanced search

I use Gmail as my primary email agent because of it's clean and kinda intuitive interface. But sometime it is hard to search throw my email. I know there are tricks like in google web search that you can effectively search for email within your criteria, but I keep forgetting the syntax. Therefore, I found this exclusive post from gmail which  explain all the possible search syntax within the gmail search box.

Not step, make a search criteria a filter criteria, seems there is no one click solution to do that yet.
